New Drinking Water Supply and Treatment System

Duration:  2011-2012

Description

This project initially included a management system for drinking water production. Antennas were installed on the plant’s roof near the raw water pumping station to control pumping operations. Water distribution and treatment system parameters are recorded and it is possible to display all ongoing operations at the plant using a touchscreen operator interface. Finally, it is possible for an outside user to log onto the management system through the Internet for the purpose of monitoring or even commanding processing sequences.

Key Elements:

  • Management of an automated filtration system using an operator interface
  • Control of raw water supply using wireless technology
  • Remote telemetry

Replacement of Drinking Water Supply and Treatment System

Duration: 2005-2006

Description

This project included a control system for drinking water production. Management of raw water pumping was wired due to the short distance between the lake and the plant. The system now in place includes management of alarms with corresponding critical treatment parameters. The system operator is now immediately notified when the Win 911 alarm system sends instantly a voicemail to his cellphone.

Key Elements:

  • Management of an automated filtration system using an operator interface
  • Remote telemetry
  • Winn 911 alarm system

Comprehensive Water Infrastructure Management via a Centralized SCADA System

Duration: 2013-2014

Description

Six (6) pumping/treatment stations were inter-related with antennas. Information gathered is now centralized at the SCADA station located in the wastewater treatment plant. External users can now log onto the management system via Internet to monitor the different stations. A complete, user-friendly alarm system was integrated into the SCADA system. In addition, automatically-generated reports assist the operator in managing water infrastructure.

Key Elements:

  • Aerial telecommunication between six (6) pumping stations and/or wastewater and drinking water treatment stations
  • New control panels
  • Centralized SCADA system
