New Drinking Water Treatment Plant

Description

For the purpose of saving space, the drinking water reservoir was constructed underneath the building, serving as foundations for the plant. The conception phase was undertaken with special precautions to optimize plant and reservoir use. This 20 m by 35 m building now shelters the community’s drinking water treatment system and fire and distribution pumping system. It also includes office spaces, a laboratory and a storage area for chemical products.

Train Maintenance Garage

Duration: 2007

Description

The train is the only possible land link between Sept-Îles and Schefferville. Schefferville cannot be reached by road. The new 15 m by 50 m service building is used for train maintenance and repair. The building can hold two (2) locomotives and several railcars. The garage is also equipped with devices for unloading and managing wastewater transported from Sept-Îles.

Service Building – Water Technician

Duration: 2012

Description

This building is used by staff operating and maintaining the community’s water treatment plants. It is equipped with a laundry room and vehicle cleaning equipment. Office and storage space for specialized materials were also included in the interior layout.
